It has been a while since we have posted an update blog here at iMOTOmx. Our website was down for a couple of days (normal maintenance), but all is well and we are back up and running. We are still waiting for information on the Glen Helen National Track 4-Race iMOTO series, and will be passing that information along as soon as it is received. In the meantime, the iMOTOmx crew has been busy with mountain bike training! Randy, Owin, Dan and Kurt have been hitting the Fullerton Loop on a regular basis, and are pedaling their way into shape! It seems Sofka, Jr. took a big header a few weeks ago and broke a couple of ribs. Kurt is a tough cookie, though, and did not miss a day of work. He was back at his training a couple of weeks later, getting ready for the Vegas to Reno Best in the Desert race which is this weekend.
REM has continued to run their weekly events, with Frank doing his usual stellar job. iMOTOmx encourages all you motocrossers to get to Glen Helen on any given Saturday to check out this, the longest running MX series in the nation!
SRA continues to offer its monthly Grand Prix event. The next scheduled SRA GP will be Sunday, August 24th. Check out the SRA website for classes and times! The GP tracks at Glen Helen are always a lot of fun, and often you can ride two classes, making it like two 45 minute motos!
Initial preparations are beginning for the 30th Annual World Vet Championships, which will be run at Glen Helen (of course!). This year the event’s title sponsor is DubyaUSA (All Things Wheel!) MTA continues their involvement as the presenting sponsor. Kristin and John, over at Dubya, are really excited about this new partnership with Glen Helen, and are already active in promoting this event. The high level of competetion will continue for the riders, and a new, expanded emphasis on the spectator experience will be evident in this year’s event. Tom White and Bud Feldkamp will continue to present the annual Edison Dye Lifetime Motocross Achievement Award. This year’s recipient is none other than Chuck “Feets” Minert, the BSA legend. Both Doug Dubach in the 40 Pro class (although he is now in his 50’s), and Travis Preston in the 30 Pro class will be returning to defend their titles. This all goes down the weekend of November 1st (with special practice sessions for entered riders on October 31st). Entries are open and may be completed online at glenhelen.com.
Check back soon. . . hopefully we will have information up on the iMOTO Glen Helen National Track Series. In the meantime, get your bike out and get your moto on!
